The Efficacy Institute

As an established partner of Memphis City Schools, The Efficacy Institute continues to offer training seminars and on-site coaching to educators, helping them produce dramatic increases in student performance using the Efficacy Package for Systemic Education Reform: Mission, Mindset, and Method.  This package builds consensus around a Mission of academic proficiency and strong character for all students, and establishes a healthy Mindset to support it – that is a belief in the capacity of students (and their teachers) to accomplish it, backed by a data-driven Method of self-directed improvement.

This year, we are expanding our services to launch the Envoy Project – an exciting new venture that prepares 2,000 Student Envoys to help change the climate and culture of their schools from the inside out using the Efficacy package.  The Envoy Project puts Efficacy tools and concepts into the hands and hearts of students, empowering them to spread a culture of achievement amongst their peers in their own words and ways.  These Student Envoys will be supported by 250 passionate Teacher Envoys, who will coach and guide them throughout this multi-year initiative.

Additionally, new teachers to MCS will participate in an Efficacy Experience to help them learn and implement the Efficacy package to increase their capacity to solve problems and promote development within their schools and classrooms.  This work will help new teachers expand beyond independent efforts in their classrooms and connect to a larger, shared Mission – both within their schools and with educators from across the district.
