Other Program Partners

The unified school district is fortunate to work with a number of alternate route certification programs that allow mid-career or recent graduates without an educational background to enter the classroom including:

• Memphis Teaching Fellows, a program for recent college graduates and career changers with a record of achievement who are interested in teaching high-need subject areas such as math, foreign language, middle school, and science
• Teach For America, the national corps of outstanding recent college graduates of all academic majors and career interests who commit two years to teach in urban and rural public schools and become leaders in the effort to expand educational opportunity, AND
• Memphis Teacher Residency, which recruits, trains, and supports outstanding teachers within a Christian context.
