Questions

Q: When I click “Apply,” I’m directed to the MCS/SCS Applicant Login page. Is this right?

Yes, that is the correct application. When directed to the Memphis City/Shelby County Schools Applicant Login page, you will be able to create a new account. After creating your account, you will then be able to log in and out of your account to access and complete your application.

Q: How long does the application process for certified teachers take?

The application for certified teachers consists of two parts:  eligibility and initial quality screening followed by a phone interview.  We will get back to you with an eligibility decision within 3-5 days of submitting your application at which point you will be invited to a phone interview.  Following the phone interview, we will get back to you within a week.

Also part of the application process is the highly qualified status review, during which your proof of highly qualified status is reviewed to ensure that you are eligible to enter the classroom.  This includes review of unofficial transcripts, Praxis scores or other proof of highly qualified status and teaching certifications.

Please note: You may not interview with principals for positions until you are notified of placement into the Teach Memphis Candidate Pool.
