Questions

Q: I am a current MCS teacher on an interim contract, do I need to re-apply for 2011-12?

Yes.  Interim teachers' positions end at the end of the school year.  Therefore teachers teaching on an interim contract must apply for new positions for 2011-12.  You may submit your application using the Login tab at the top of this page.

Q: How long does the application process for certified teachers take?

The application for certified teachers consists of two parts:  eligibility and initial quality screening followed by a phone interview.  We will get back to you with an eligibility decision within two weeks of submitting your application at which point you will be invited to a phone interview.  Following the phone interview, we will get back to you within a week.  Also part of the approval process is the final review, during which your file is examined for required documentation to ensure that you are eligible to enter the classroom.  This includes review of official transcripts, Praxis scores or other proof of highly qualified status and licensure.  You may not interview with principals for positions until you are notified of placement into the Teach Memphis Candidate Pool.
