Special Education is a high-need area for Memphis City Schools. We are seeking excellent certified Special Educators as well as those who are eligible for highly-qualified alternative licenses. To qualify for an alternative license in Special Education, you must:
1. Have completed a minimum of 9 hours of specific Special Education coursework. The specific classes required to be eligible for a Type II license are determined by the university in which you are in enrolled.
OR
2. Have taken and passed the PRAXIS Education of Exceptional Students: Core Content Knowledge (#0353) AND one of the following: Education of Exceptional Students: Mild to Moderate Disabilities (#0542) for Modified K-12OR Education of Exceptional Students: Severe to Profound Disabilities (#0544) for Comprehensive K-12.
